At Jefferson Elementary School we began implementing STEM activities during the 2018-2019 school year and have added more and more opportunities for our students each year to support our transition into becoming Paramount Unified School District's first ever STEM Academy! If STEM is an unfamiliar acronym to you, let us help! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. At Jefferson, we are deeply committed to making a positive difference both in the academic and social lives of our students. Our first priority is always to the kids we serve. Every day, our amazing staff of highly qualified teachers and dedicated support personnel facilitate student learning by pushing them to be critical thinkers and articulate scholars across all content areas! By doing this, we ensure that your student will have the opportunity to receive a high, quality, instructional program with a focus on the elements of STEM. Distance Learning

This school year is already proving to be fun & exciting in it's own way! Please be prepared to meet your teacher EVERYDAY in some way! Your teachers are excited and we hope you are excited too! AVID Elementary

AVID Elementary is a program made up strategies that help students learn to their fullest potential. The AVID program also places high priority on college and or career readiness for students; many of whom may be one of the first members of their families to plan on attending college. Many elementary schools in Paramount Unified School District are beginning to participate in AVID however, Jefferson is the only elementary that participates in 4 grade levels and is an AVID Showcase school. We are proud to hold this honor and take our AVID status seriously! We strive to see every student reach their full potential while they are here at Jefferson and in their future as well!
